The ReLove Story
In 2019, Ren and Ben started The Run for Good Project—a running group focused on practical ways of giving back to the community.
In 2020, one of those projects, The Heart and Home Project, set out to connect 5 women starting over after domestic violence with donated furniture from the community. They thought they’d help five women furnish their homes but quickly discovered a critical gap in support services for people moving into safe housing. Their homes were empty.
So in 2021, ReLove was born and has grown into one of Sydney's leading support services for people in crisis. ReLove supports people starting over who have experienced homelessness, been impacted by domestic violence, or are exiting incarceration. We put dignity and choice at the heart of what we do. The ReLove Free Store is a safe place where people can come to choose everything they need to start over—from furniture to household essentials.
We work to rescue furniture at scale from the hotel and property industries, retailers and the community, creating an environmental solution to a social need.
We believe in the power of community connection, creating an inclusive space where everyone has the opportunity to help others rebuild their lives with dignity and respect.
